Bad Luck Woman & Her Misfortunes are a Toronto based Blues/R&B band, reviving some obscure and forgotten tunes by sassy ladies of the 50’s and 60's, such as Big Maybelle, Little Sylvia, Dolly Cooper, Carmen Taylor, and Ella Johnson, as well keeping alive classics by icons like Ray Charles, Etta James, Muddy Waters, and Jimmy Rogers. Their dynamic stage presence and ruthless energy keeps the audiences dancing all night. The band was formed in 2015 by front-woman, lead vocalist and bass player Raha Javanfar. In its current formation, she is backed by lead guitarist Fraser Melvin, saxophonist Andrew Moljgun, and drummer Jonathan Hyde.

With one foot in the past and an eye to the future, Toronto’s most genial Western swing band aims to honour the legacy of Bob Wills through the spirit of lively performance and quality musicianship. The Double Cuts draw from a timeless repertoire of genre standards, creating original arrangements that satisfy both new listeners and swing aficionados alike.

Raha Javanfar will be fronting the Fraser Melvin Band on March 1 at Noonan’s Pub!

The Fraser Melvin Band plays high energy Blues, Roots, and R&B that will get you moving and shaking. From their countryfied covers of Jimi Hendrix, to their funk interpretations of Bob Dylan, to their own soulful originals, the FMB draws on a wide variety of influences throughout their set. With a powerful lead singer who doubles as guitar slinger, a honkin’ sax man, and a rhythm section that grooves, the exciting and entertaining Fraser Melvin Band will get you out of your seat, shaking a hip, and singing along. Formed in 2008 by accomplished frontman Fraser Melvin (Guitar & Vocals) and rounded out with Alex Furlott (Bass), Jonathan Hyde (Drums), and Andrew Moljgun (Saxes & Tambourine), this tight group quickly earned its popularity with crowds across Ontario and Quebec with their energetic live performances and musicianship displayed through a diversified repertoire of tunes.

Rosewood Reival is Jesse Corrigan’s project and includes Tzevi Sherman on pedal steel and vocals, Jesse Corrigan on guitar and vocals, Raha Javanfar on keys and vocals.
